Cathedral of Santa Maria de Burgos
Burgos
It is a Gothic Catholic temple begun in 1221. It houses works of art by renowned artists and varied styles. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984, it is the only Spanish cathedral with this distinction independently. It contains the tomb of El Cid and Doña Jimena. It is the highest ranking Catholic temple in Castile and León.
