Minor Basilica of San Ildefonso

The Minor Basilica of San Ildefonso, a Catholic church in Jaén, was erected in 1248. Consecrated to Saint Ildefonso, it gained importance after the "Descent of the Virgin" (1430), becoming a sanctuary and basilica dedicated to the patron saint. A sculpture of the Immaculate Conception stands in the square. It is possibly the tomb of the architect Andrés de Vandelvira.
