The Charterhouse Monastery in Granada was founded in the 16th century and housed Carthusian monks until 1835. It is a pinnacle of Spanish Baroque architecture, blending various styles. It was declared a Site of Cultural Interest and a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1931.
