Underground shelters of Almería

The underground shelters of Almería are a 4 km long network, designed in 1937 by Guillermo Langle, built to protect 40,000 inhabitants from bombings during the Spanish Civil War. They include an operating room and are among the best preserved in Europe. They form part of the network of Sites of Historical Memory in Andalusia.
