  • Rob from the poor give to the rich

Unless you have hundreds and I in all seriousness mean hundreds of dollars that you might not get to fully use, do not subject yourself to this game. I have spent hundreds on this game but am not going to be spending anymore money moving forward. This means any progression at my level now takes months if at all possible. This is a PAY TO WIN GAME period. 1. No matter your level there is always someone bigger and meaner who takes advantage of the massively unfair forced pvp gap for whatever small amount of resources you might have. 2. Quests eventually become too high a level to complete. Even the dailies. 3. Events favor the same people or guilds over and over. 4. Crap customer service 5. Most importantly, this game is packed full of bugs that costs you time and money, given that the developers are aware of them and have done nothing to fix them, shows you how bad the game is. Why don’t you spend less time on an expansion and actually get the initial game running well.

I realize there’s a lot of whining about the amount of getting ganked on ships and stations. However, that’s pretty much the issue. If you play this game honorably (I.e. you don’t openly attack people, you are courteous, blah blah blah) it just isn’t for you. Even being in a big alliance or coalition of alliances doesn’t help that. You spend so much time trying to find resources without crapping on other players, and then when you do, you generally get offed before you get a good supply. When that happens, you can’t advance, and in the meantime, whatever you have saved up gets stolen by d-heads attacking your station. What benefit does the game really get by allowing this to happen when it is already so hard to gather the materials? I didn’t provoke, I move my station to low level areas as to keep out of the limelight, and it still happens. I understand that’s part of the game as it was made, but I’m telling you, devs, that it is crap. If you want that kind of challenge and open flat out pvp and hostility, make the resources much much easier to obtain (I haven’t and won’t even get into the P2W vs F2P aspect of imbalance) so that the playing field makes it more sensible to engage in open world pvp combat. Yes, it’s a game, and the challenge is what it is, but people’s time is not a game. I enjoyed the early aspects of this game, and even after attaining lvl 20 and the Khera, it is obvious that this game is not worth it, much less is it even complete. Could have been great, but I am disappointed that I spent enough time to attain 20. BTW, if you decide to respond to my assessment, don’t even mention shields and all that crap. I’ve used everything that the game had available and it still is too much of a time sink. Unbelievably so when you allow people to steal resources. STEAL! There’s not even any sort of faction or alignment explanation as to why this should reasonably be occurring. I knew all of this going into the game and assumed I could overcome it, but I don’t like f’ing people over, and I can’t spend that amount of time to rebuild after I lose it all when I can’t get to the game and refresh a shield. Some people have obligations that preclude that. I would recommend moving on from this one.
  • Rip off literally

Bought a base supply for $50 and immediately my base was attacked and everything I paid real money for was gone. Yeah I know, my fault.. Real nice game mechanic, have a player pay for something that another player can take from you. And now I can’t even level up after I dropped real money to. Rip off!!!!!!
  • Great Game - Work To Do

    By DS9 Fan
The concept, graphics and overall gameplay is great. Honestly one of the best games out there for the first few weeks of game play... Unfortunately, to truly advance you need to spend money which is something I hate about any f2p game. I get that the game is new and the user base isn’t like some other games out there but the only way to really grow is to reward the loyal players who start early with you regardless of how much they may or may not spend. Having a loyal community is what will make this successful but some tasks become nearly impossible to achieve without investing. Worth the time but slow play it until they realize a way to reward loyal players over those who want to spend.
  • Greed

This game has such potential but Scopely refuses to let you grid resources just making some impossible to get without paying. The game seems to be spiraling down into same old crap bin.

Twice in a weeks time frame it has frozen for over 24 hours and not allowing me to continue, just keeps saying it’s preparing..but nothing happens...very frustrating.
  • Pitifully poor software quality assurance

    By Annoyed in cyberspace
This is one of those “free” games that gets you interested and then requires hundreds if not thousands of dollars of in-game purchases to advance beyond minimal levels. Yet the software is so buggy you will lose most of your dollars invested because they cannot field a quality product. Do not walk away. Run away. Spend your money on lottery tickets or booze. Better returns from both...
  • Needs more value

    By Goatrodeo
This is very pay to play designed. I love Star Trek; however, this is not a good value for the money. It’s fun until you exhaust (rather quickly) what you invested. A lot of higher players bully weaker ships on a regular basis. It needs more work to be a true strategy game. Because of the multitude of bugs in the game, often the game does NOT award the prizes that are earned. When you complain to tech support, they back up what is wrongly reported in the bug filled game. I’ve made it to level 26 in the game; however, I’m not sure how much more I’m going to play based on the cost. The game uses uncommon ore, crystal, and gas to control how much you can progress without paying money.
  • Bugs galore

    By Ragevortex
The game is not about strategy its about money. Its full of bugs and math errors on the back end and on the interface. The theme is entertaining and the music is good but dont spend a dime or any time on it.

The Scopely people are the most frustrating group of developers I have ever run into when dealing with game play problems. Star Fleet Command is a total disaster from start to finish. There is nothing fair about the game. If you are in a large alliance with lots of large powerful ships, you dominate everything and there is really no hope for much advancement unless you spend megabucks which many people do to only be frustrated. The biggest problem is even after making a purchase of resources for game play your base gets raided immediately and Scopely will not....let me repeat...WILL NOT..refund your money. Then here is the other need to shield your base for protection and cannot attack anyone except hostiles, not other players who have taken your resources. The game is constantly crashing every 5-10 minutes and you have to reboot. Then there are the time-out screen issues and billing screen issues. When you write to Scopely they want screenshots of your problems but don’t know how to correctly inform you how to take screenshots on different devices. And they usually give bad advice. When you finally take a screenshot and send it to them...their pat answer is to say we are aware of the problem and in a few years we will have it corrected. The game is a SCAM....let me repeat....a BIG SCAM. And with some improvements to make it fair and some tweaks in software to rid the game of its constant glitches the idea might be successful. As it is....I wouldn’t recommend anyone trying this game at all. They really should refund everyone’s money and start completely over. COMPLETE RIP-OFF! It might be prudent for the players to contact an attorney and develop and class-action lawsuit to force Scopely to deal with the issues.
